I follow them for a while, but both are moving at the same speed so while the caravan can’t escape, the Nords can’t catch up either.

I come across a party of Nords rampaging through the Swadian countryside, they’re are chasing after a caravan. Once that little uprising was dealt with the villagers gave in and things carried on really smoothly, I took the money to Grainwad and he was happy. I was slightly dismayed that, whilst some were equipped with clubs, some had sharp weapons, that meant that if they overwhelmed one of my men, they would be permanently killed, this helped me fight a little harder. A small group of villagers attack, but they are spread all over the place, this will be easy, indeed I take almost all of them out myself. Oh I see, it’s so that we don’t kill any of the villager, but we still teach them a lesson. I’ve never had them do this before, we enter the town but I find that there are only three other troops with me, plus we are all suddenly armed with quarterstaffs. The game switches to the map screeen and money starts flowing in, all goes well until about midday, a group of villagers attacks us.

The villagers are a little upset that they have to pay out, I am given the option of only asking for half, the villagers will be much happier, but Lord Grainwad will probably be a little angry. I head to the village and start collecting taxes, Jeremus has the highest trade skill (although I think that’s tied with Katrin) so he is in charge of the finances, he reckons it will take one day. This sounds like an interesting diversion so I accept. Lord Grainwad promises my a fifth of the taxes if I can get the villagers to cough up. I need to take them form 7B and make sure they fill out section 5, no that’s not right. Lords or vassals each have a village that they are responsible for, Grainwad’s is Nomar and apparently they haven’t been paying their taxes. More errands today, this time I visit Lord Grainwad to see if he needs me to do anything.
